Have you ever boiled a can

We tried an experament yesterday this is what we did

First we got  an alluminium can with a drop or two of water init, Then we put it in a pot to boil it. Once it was boiling we waited about 30-40 seconds. Then we grabed it with the tongs and put it in a bowl of ice. It exploded.
